چکیده
This is a retrospective, multicenter study of consecutive patients with nAMD scheduled for visit and/or treatment an intravitreal injection (IVI) during the 3 months before lockdown in Ophthalmology Departments six centers Europe. The was conducted on 546 patients, which 55.13% were females, almost 100% White/Caucasian race, and 71.53% presented type 1 macular neovascularization (NVM). A total 62.82% (343 patients) that clinic visits quarantine did not attend either to or lockdown. The mean number injections significantly reduced. followed by significant reduction best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) between (mean BCVA 60.68 ± 19.77 letters) 6 after 56.98 22.59 letters). Patients better ones showing neovascular activity more likely their IVI treatments. COVID-19 pandemic have led decrease treatments nAMD, evidencing vision loss at months.

OBJECTIVE To determine the prevalence and visual significance of cystoid macular edema (CME) in eyes with subfoveal neovascular age-related macular degeneration using optical coherence tomography (OCT). MATERIALS AND METHODS The medical records of 61 consecutive patients initially seen with nondisciform subfoveal neovascular age-related macular degeneration were retrospectively reviewed. All ...

PURPOSE To estimate the potential public health impact of treatment with new medications intended to preserve vision in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD). METHODS A Markov model was used to simulate the natural history of AMD over the lifetime of patients with diagnosed neovascular AMD from clinical trials and epidemiologic surveys. It applied to a cohort of pat...
متن کاملMeasurement of Choroidal Neovascular Area in Age-Related Macular Degeneration using Modified Otsu’s Thresholding Method
Introduction: Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is one of the most important causes of irreversible blindness in the developed world and prevents the affected person from performing simple tasks such as reading, driving and facial recognition. In the AMD, new blood vessels grow underneath the retina in a process called choroidal neovascularisation (CNV). There ...

PURPOSE To evaluate neuroretinal function and anatomical outcomes in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) after three treatments with ranibizumab. DESIGN Observational case reports. METHODS We investigated visual function in three patients, one female (80 years) and two male (77 and 74 years) with neovascular AMD. Twenty healthy participants served as control gro...
